Xuong Xep is a small architecture practice based in Ho Chi Minh City. Our team has always been modest in size—often fewer than ten people, even at its busiest.

We consider ourselves apprentices at the beginning of our architectural practice. At this stage, working at a small scale feels appropriate, as it allows us to stay closely involved in each project, maintain a clear sense of control, and continue learning through the work we do as a studio.

This mindset resonates with a quote by Charles and Ray Eames:
“In the arts, the amateur is the essential element.”

We started with personal projects while we were still studying at the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City (UAH). Through these early works, we gradually formed connections with people who shared a similar way of working and thinking. What began as small, informal collaborations slowly became something more defined.

With three core members—Bảo Lâm (Co-founder, Principal Architect), Anh Dũng (Co-founder, Lead Architect), and Phúc Nhân (Lead Architect)—Xuong Xep was officially established in 2022.
